Economic Banking Initiative
This is an economic effort known as The Methodist Banking Initiative that brings together 670 churches across Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi to facilitate the program. This initiative seeks to earmark $200,500,000 for business start-ups and mortgages in the African American community.
The Next Generation for Peace and Justice
This is a movement that seeks to enlist 12 million children and youth who will pledge to remain free from drugs, guns, crime and going to jail. This movement has now enlisted over 6423 youth and children with seventeen chapters in operation across the United States.
One of A Kind African American Tourism Program
This
program includes the
site where Dr.
Martin Luther King,
Jr.
was elected
president of the
Montgomery
Improvement
Association and a
local museum with 50
original inventions
and over 100
exhibits.
National Events Calendar
This calendar will disclose the national, state and local events that have been planned to celebrate the accomplishments through the Faith, Civil Rights, Education, Economics, Entertainment, Politics and Athletic communities.
The National Pledge
The National Pledge Form to obtain support for the 400 Years Celebration will be made available. It is hoped that of the 40 million African Americans in the United States, that 90% will take the pledge. The pledge will be available online, in print, in churches, businesses, schools, athletic events and family reunions.
The Athletic Celebration and Recognition Initiative
The
athlete celebration
and recognition
initiative will
allow for a project
or program to be
established or
constructed in honor
of selected
athletes. The
project or program
will be done in the
state, county, or
city of origin
of
the selected
athletes. The
project will be
sponsored by the
athlete and their
fans.
